Introduction to Rosie

My name is Rosie, and I am Layton Primary School’s dog.  I am normally at school on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday and I love to come to work to support the children.  I especially love chasing the ball on the field and reading with the children at school, but I also enjoy all the fuss I get when I go out to play at lunchtime and say good morning to the children and parents each day.

My jobs in school are:

  • to support the children with reading
  • to help children manage their emotions
  • to be on the yard in the morning and at the end of the day to greet children and parents

I also hand out my special Rosie Awards each half-term.  Rosie Awards are given to those children who I have spotted working really hard on the Layton 5 Rs!

There is a risk assessment in place for the dog to be in school. If you have any concerns or do not wish for your child to participate in any interventions with Rosie, please contact the school office on 01253 392179.
