🌱 Our Eco Sustainability Commitment

At Layton Primary School, we are committed to creating a greener, healthier and more sustainable future for our pupils and our planet.

Through our curriculum, we help children understand the impact that human activity can have on our environment, including climate change, pollution, deforestation and loss of biodiversity. We encourage pupils to think about the positive actions they can take to make a difference, both in school and in their wider community.

We make the most of our school grounds and outdoor areas, developing different habitats and planting to support biodiversity and encourage wildlife. These spaces also provide valuable opportunities for children to explore and learn about the natural world through Science and other areas of the curriculum.

Across the school, staff and pupils work together to follow the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, with a focus on saving energy and water, reducing food and other waste, and making environmentally responsible choices.

Our Eco Action Plan helps everyone understand how they can play their part. By working together, we aim to inspire our children to become environmentally responsible citizens who can help create a more sustainable future for everyone.
